The judge presiding over the South Toms River Municipal Court is the Honorable Michael R. Bateman and the Court Administrator is Patty Megill. The South Toms River Municipal Court Prosecutor is presently John Ducey, Esq.

South Toms River Municipal Court sessions are held on the fourth Monday of every month beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Paying Fines at South Toms River Municipal Court

The South Toms Municipal Court only accepts cash, checks or money orders for the payment of fines and tickets.  They currently do not accept any credit or debit cards.  However, payments for traffic tickets may be made by Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card online at www.njmcdirect.com.  The South Toms River Municipal Court ID is 1529.

What Will Happen During Your S. Toms River Court Date

You will be required to appear in court for criminal matters and DWI charges.  You must also appear in court if “court appearance required” is checked on your summons or traffic ticket.  This is the case even if you intend to plead guilty to the charges.
If you must appear in court, it is very important that you arrive early on the specified date and bring all relevant documentation with you.  There is free parking available at the South Toms River Court both in the front and on the side of the building.  Before entering the court, you will be required to pass through the court’s security screening process, which consists of a police officer using a handheld security wand.  Once inside the court, you should turn off or silence your cell phone if you are bringing one with you.  Check in with the court staff and listen to the court staff and the judge for instructions.

About South Toms River, New Jersey

South Toms River is a borough in Ocean County, NJ with a population of approximately 3,700.  It was incorporated as a borough on March 28, 1927 from portions of Berkeley Township.  The South Toms River government consists of a Mayor and a six-member borough council.  The Mayor is elected to a four-year term by the voters of South Toms River.  The Council members are elected to serve three-year terms on a staggered basis, with two seats being filled each year.
