Types of Cases Heard at Mantoloking Municipal Court

The Mantoloking Municipal Court typically handles cases involving DWI's, traffic tickets, and disorderly persons charges.

When is a Court Appearance Required?

A court appearance is always required with criminal charges. For all other charges, you will need to refer to your summons. If the “court appearance required” box is checked, you will have to appear in court at the scheduled date and time, even if you are pleading guilty.
It is recommended that you hire an experienced Mantoloking attorney to represent you, since defendants with lawyers are usually heard before defendants entering pleas of not guilty without a lawyer. Hiring a lawyer also gives you access to valuable legal advice, with which the municipal court staff cannot assist you.
If you are entering a not guilty plea prior to your court date, you will be allowed to speak to the Prosecutor before your court appearance. In this case, it is also recommended that you allow an experienced attorney to speak to the prosecutor on your behalf.

Making a Payment to Mantoloking Municipal Court

If you have received a parking or traffic ticket, this can be paid online at the NJMC Direct website at www.njmc.com. You will need to have your ticket handy, as well as your license plate number. Online payments can be made with a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card.
If you are paying at the payment window after your hearing, the Mantoloking Township Municipal Court accepts cash, check, money order and Visa and MasterCard credit card payments. For check payments, you will be required to write your driver's license number and phone number directly on the check.
