What to Expect at Your Keyport, NJ Court Appearance

If the “court appearance required” box on your summons has been checked, you are required to appear even if you are planning to plead guilty. In New Jersey, all criminal charges and DWI's require a court appearance.
If your appearance is required at the Keyport Municipal Court, make sure to arrive early with all necessary documents, such as the ticket, summons or court notice. Check in with the court staff, and remember to turn off or silence your cell phone before entering the courtroom. Hearings are sound recorded, so it is imperative that you remain silent until it is your turn to speak. Keep in mind that defendants pleading not guilty without an attorney are usually heard last. It is recommended that you hire an experienced Keyport lawyer if you want to be heard faster.
