It is recommended that you seek legal advice from a knowledgeable Hazlet, New Jersey lawyer about your summons. An attorney can help you understand your rights, and advise you on whether or not you should contest your charges in court.

Important Tips for Your Hazlet Court Hearing

Municipal courts adhere by strict rules when it comes to procedures and etiquette within the courtroom. Before you leave for court, make sure that you have all the relevant items, such as your photo ID, summons, and any supporting documentation related to your case. It is best to arrive early since you will need to check in with the Court Administrator, who may have important instructions.  Arriving early will also give you an opportunity to speak with the Prosecutor before your hearing.

Prior to entering the courtroom, make sure to turn off or silence your cell phone. Also, dispose of any food or drinks, and be prepared to sit silently until it is your turn to speak. Noise disruptions are not tolerated since New Jersey municipal court hearings are sound recorded.
