What are the First Signs of Divorce?

Posted by Vincent C. DeLuca | Oct 19, 2020 | 0 Comments

There are many reasons to suspect your marriage may be in trouble.  Odds are if you think it is in trouble you are probably right.  Common sense is a good guide in analyzing whether or not you should be contemplating a divorce.   Ask yourself the following questions:  is your subconscious telling you that something is wrong and you should get out of the relationship? Are your friends and family urging you to move on with your life? Are you finding consistent reasons to avoid your spouse? Are your interactions with your spouse usually contentious? Do you find that you and your spouse have different priorities and values? Are you often times feeling sad or unhappy?

If the answer to any of the above questions or more than one of the above questions is yes, unfortunately you may be on your way to a divorce. Obviously prior to filing for divorce you want to make sure that there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation with your spouse. Ask yourself whether or not the reason for feeling the way that you do could in part be a result of your own actions or inactions as relates to the problems that you are experiencing in your relationship. You may also want to consider some type of marriage counseling or therapy before moving forward with that somewhat drastic step of seeking to end the marriage.

If you are unsure as to whether or not you are experiencing the first signs of divorce or whether or not you simply wish to find out how divorce works or what your options are as it relates to obtaining a divorce you should consult with a experienced divorce lawyer to go over your options.
