Stafford Township Municipal Court Judge and Staff

The judge presiding over the Stafford Township Municipal Court is the Honorable Damian G. Murray.  The Court Administrator is Carol Jenkins.  The current Stafford Township Prosecutor is Robert Zazistoski, Esq.

Stafford Township Court Sessions and Hours

The Stafford Township Municipal Court office hours are Mondays to Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Court sessions are typically held every Friday at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Paying Tickets and Fines at the Stafford Municipal Court

Payment of fines and tickets at the Stafford Township Municipal Court must be made in the form of cash, check or money order.  The Stafford Municipal Court does not accept credit or debit cards at this time.  However, payments for traffic tickets may be made online by credit or debit card at www.njmcdirect.com.  The Stafford Township Municipal Court ID is 1530.

Stafford Township Municipal Court Appearances

A court appearance is required in criminal matters and when defending DWI charges in New Jersey.  Additionally, if “court appearance required” is checked on your summons or traffic ticket, you must appear in court at the time and place indicated, even if you intend to plead guilty.
There is free parking available to you at the Stafford Township Municipal Court.  Once inside the court, you should turn off or silence your cell phone and/or your pager.  After entering the court, the first thing you will do is speak to the Prosecutor regarding your matter.  You should line up on the right hand side of the court to wait your turn to speak to the Prosecutor.  You must then wait for the judge to call your matter and give you further instructions.

Matters Heard at the Stafford Township Municipal Court

The most common cases heard by NJ municipal courts are minor criminal offenses such as simple assault, trespassing and shoplifting.  In New Jersey, these types of offenses are known as disorderly persons or petty disorderly persons offenses, commonly called misdemeanors in other states.  The Stafford Township Municipal Court also hears violations of township ordinances, SPCA violations, forest and parks complaints, weights and measures infractions, and all motor vehicle violations, including charges of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
