The Judge and Staff of Freehold Township Municipal Court

The judge presiding over the Freehold Township Municipal Court is the Honorable Thomas F. X. Foley.  The Certified Municipal Court Administrator is Denise Yuhas.  The Freehold Township Municipal Court Prosecutor is Nicole Sonnenblick, Esq.

Freehold Township Court Days and Hours of Operation

Freehold Township Municipal Court sessions are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  On the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. only guilty pleas, bail hearings and matters involving non-compliance with court orders will be heard.  The Freehold Court’s office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, except on court session days.

Payment of Fines at Freehold Township Municipal Court

Freehold Township Municipal Court currently accepts cash, check or money order for the payment of court fees and fines.  Visa and MasterCard are also acceptable forms of payment if made in person, but are not accepted if paying by phone or mail.  Installment plans can often be arranged when a fine is assessed in court.  Payments for traffic tickets may be made online at www.njmcdirect.com.  The Freehold Township Court ID is 1316 when using this service.

Your Court Appearance at the Freehold Municipal Court

A court appearance is always required when charged with criminal matters and DWI’s in New Jersey.  Additionally, you must also appear at the scheduled court date if “court appearance required” is checked on your summons or ticket.
Upon arrival at the Freehold Municipal Court on your scheduled date, you will go through a metal detection procedure before entering the courthouse.  A court officer will then check you in and give you further instructions.

Cases Heard at Freehold Township Municipal Court

The Freehold Township Municipal Court has jurisdiction over charges issued by law enforcement within the township, including violations of municipal ordinances, motor vehicle and traffic laws, disorderly persons offenses, petty disorderly persons offenses and other non-indictable offenses.
