What Will Happen During Your Time at the Deal Court

A court appearance is required for criminal and DWI matters.  Additionally, if “court appearance required” is checked on your summons, you must appear in court at the time and place indicated, even if you wish to plead guilty.
If you are appearing in court, it is very important that you arrive early on the date required and you bring all relevant documentation with you.  There will be free parking available to you at the courthouse.  However, before entering the courthouse, you must pass through the court’s security screening process.  Therefore, you should give yourself some extra time to park and pass through security.  Once inside the court, you should turn off or silence your cell phone if you have one with you.
The court typically hears cases in a particular order.  Individuals pleading not guilty pro se are usually heard last.  It is highly recommended that you hire an experienced Deal Municipal Court lawyer to represent you in your defense if you want to be heard faster.
