Class C Liquor Licenses - Retail Liquor Licenses
Retail liquor licenses (Class C) are issued by the municipality in which the business is located and all applications, renewals and transfers of the liquor license are determined by the municipal governing body.
The types of retail liquor licenses are:
- Club Licenses
- Plenary Retail Consumption License with Broad Package Privilege
- Plenary Retail Consumption License
- Seasonal Retail Consumption License
- Hotel/Motel License
- Plenary Retail Consumption License (theater exception)
- Limited Retail Distribution License (NO longer being issued, only renewed or transferred)
- Plenary Retail Distribution Licens
Class A Liquor Licenses - Manufacturing Liquor Licenses
Liquor licenses issued to manufacturers/suppliers are Class A liquor licenses. These manufacturing liquor licenses are issued by the Director of the Division of ABC. Any supplier engaged in the actual manufacturing or bottling of alcoholic beverage in New Jersey must have one of these liquor licenses, which include:
- Plenary Brewery
- Limited Brewery
- Plenary Winery
- Farm Winery
- Plenary Distillery
- Limited Distillery
- Supplementary Limited Distillery
- Rectifier and Blender
- Bonded Warehouse Bottling
Class B Liquor Licenses - Wholesale Liquor Licenses
Liquor licenses issued for the purposes of wholesaling or distributing alcoholic beverages exclusively to retail licensees are “Class B” liquor licenses. These wholesale liquor licenses are issued by the Director of the Division of ABC. Any wholesale or distributer of liquor in New Jersey must have one of these liquor licenses, which include:
- Plenary Wholesale
- Limited Wholesale
- Wine Wholesale
- State Beverage Distributor’s
